Chef Stefan Bekker 

A Prue Leith Culinary Institute graduate with 12 years’ experience in the industry, Chef Stefan is proud to be the face and namesake of Stefan’s. He has created a stunning a Table d’hôte menu brimming with local flavour and global inspiration – a culinary journey in the heart of the Helderberg! 

Winemaster Hannes Nel 

Hannes Nel grew up in the countryside surrounded by fresh air and nature in the small town of Moorreesburg, about 70 km outside Cape Town. Hannes joined Lourensford as a microbiologist in 2002 after completing his pre-graduate degree and M.Sc in Microbiology cum laude at the University of Stellenbosch. He quickly developed a keen interest in wine and, in 2005, travelled to Italy to work at the Manincor winery in South Tyrol as a visiting winemaker. He returned to Lourensford in 2008, where he was appointed as a winemaker with a special focus on white wines, and soon after stepped into the role of cellar master, overseeing the total winemaking process. In the past five years his creative approach towards winemaking has secured an impressive 82 awards for the esteemed wine estate.
