18 July 2013 is Mandela Day which is a call to action for individuals – for people everywhere – to take responsibility for changing the world into a better place, one small step at a time, just as Mr Mandela did for more than 67 years.

The Erinvale Estate Hotel & Spa approached the Erinvale Care and Help Organization (ECHO) to receive the food parcels gathered by the Erinvale staff and the Erinvale Hotel. ECHO embraces and enriches the lives of less privileged members of our society and strives to create unity amongst all in the Helderberg Basin

ECHO is a beneficiary of the Erinvale Estate Hotel & Spa by means of the Preferred Hotel Group initiative, the Giving Room. For every night occupied in the designated Giving Room, Room 40, 10 percent of the room’s revenue is donated to ECHO. This initiative is a great way to make your stay not only memorable but also beneficial to the underprivileged in the immediate community.

ECHO has nominated the Somerset West Night Shelter as the beneficiary to receive the food parcels in celebration of Mandela Day and helping those in need. The Somerset West Night Shelter accommodates and welcomes 54 men and women on average every night. The Shelter is always in need of food, assistance, donations and other items needed for their projects.
