With 12 years of experience in events planning, Marguerite Gelderman pulls out all the stops to ensure stress-free, seamless and truly unforgettable events for Erinvale Estate Hotel & Spa’s guests and clients.

During her first year as the hotel’s Events Lead, Marguerite has contemplated her vision for the future, orchestrated everything from intimate wedding ceremonies to upmarket dinner functions in the garden, and fine-tuned her superpower – always ensuring our guests have a great time.

With three distinct meeting and event spaces at Erinvale Estate Hotel & Spa, how do you match an event to a suitable space, ensuring a unique guest experience?

It’s important to understand each guest and group’s expectations and requirements, which vary based on the event you’re planning. I firmly believe in site visits to discuss the guests’ vision in detail before planning an event.

With the evolving demands of corporate guests, especially in the digital age, how do you ensure Erinvale Estate Hotel & Spa’s event spaces remain cutting-edge and relevant?

Two of our venues have hybrid conferencing AV equipment and many other state-of-the-art essentials. Camphor venue is also undergoing renovations, which will be completed within the next few months.

Events require intricate coordination and teamwork. How do you ensure seamless communication and collaboration among various departments for every event, from catering to logistics?

Communication regarding event planning takes on many forms. Good working relationships with all departments are the basis for any successful event.

What is your vision for Erinvale Estate Hotel & Spa?

To be the first destination choice for local and international guests for an exceptional hotel/venue/dining experience in the greater Helderberg area.
